About me

I arrived in France when I was 3 months old. My mum fled Vietnam with the ‘boat people’.

My mother worked and then opened a restaurant in the East of France. My brothers, my sister and I have worked there all through our teenage years. This stage of my life has given me a real passion for cooking.

At university, I studied cooking techniques to teach people in their daily lives.  In my previous jobs, I had the opportunity to teach cooking to families who needed to know the French culture to fit in, but also to help families prepare meals at a lower cost. I provided them with advice on cooking French food with daily ingredients.

We came on holiday to New Zealand in 2004 and have fallen in love with the country. Having lived 20 years in the Paris area, it was time for our family to discover new horizons and New Zealand appeared as obvious.

Garance Limited was established at the end of 2016 to fill a void: to bring a really high quality Champagne to New Zealand and Australia, and to share my beloved French cooking. My passion for excellence is what drove me from the beginning and it still drives me now. In fact, it’s what makes me tick.  My English is not excellent but my heart is there ;-)

Unfortunately, since the Covid, the freight has increased a lot. As I don't want to rise my price, I prefer to stop importing our Champagne in 2023 but I still operate in cooking class ;-)

So, what are you waiting for? Come visit my website, email me, or pick up the phone and give me a call! I look forward to meeting you.
